Contacted by an Uber recruiter, recommend me to apply for a backend position in map search team, which I saw some negative feedback on blind. I asked for other 5b positions, recruiter stopped replying me. Is it because this recruiter only works for map team? Should I contact a different recruiter? On Uber website, how can I know a senior position is for 5B or not? What are the new or relatively high growth team at uber? Blind tax: 600k this year, around 500k next year.
It's the same as LinkedIn and most places , each recruiter hires for specific teams/roles.
Afak, LinkedIn recruiter distribute by big tracks like ai, app, ui. But for backend, recruiter can help you choose the team you want to interview for. Any recommendations for the teams at uber for high growth?
Any freight team
Currently Staff at LinkedIn?
Yes for 2 years. Can I push for staff at uber?
It's difficult but you can try. Staff at LinkedIn generally maps to L5B though.
Staff at LinkedIn maps to 5A-5B depending on if you are a new staff or experienced staff. Asking to be staff at Uber is highly doubtful. You need to be senior staff or principal staff at LI to be staff at Uber.
Understand. But I am in the l6 loop with other companies.
L6 at Uber is closer to L7 at other companies and 5B at Uber is closer to L6 at other companies. Not a 1:1 mapping of course as 5B can be a high senior at Google or L6 at Uber can be a high L6 at Google for example
Why would you want to move from LI to uber, is it the TC cliff?
Kind of. Not cliff a lot though. I saw some high package from Uber. And I am bullish for Uber stock, though have concerns about their culture. I have green card, and Uber stock has no 1year cliff, so nothing to lose to give a try
I would be concerned about Uber culture too. I want to join LinkedIn.
Is there a team or company that blind is not negative about?
We typically support one team, but can work with you on any role. This recruiter should not have ghosted you. She should have referred you to someone else if they only want to deal Maps. Lots of growth all around. I would say the Mobility (Rider,Driver, Marketplace, etc. )group has the most new openings. Rider team always has the most new openings in Mobility and is constantly adding. Lots more going on than maintenance on the core product.
Can you refer me to the position and recruiter?
Tons of openings on their website. Honestly, still don't know how does their recruiter work.
How tough is the interview?
