Recruiter for UiPath told me they want to proceed with an offer and I just completed my onsite with Uber (felt it was pretty good and want to join the Eats division). Recruiter didn't have any numbers but I feel it may be the same as Uber SWE II from https://www.levels.fyi/?compare=UiPath,Uber,Google,Facebook,Microsoft Assuming both will pay around 250k for SWE II, which one would be a better jump? Main things to consider is job security since Uber didn't fare well with COVID but is picking back up after winning prop22, the vaccine news, etc. NYC cases seems to be spiking back up so I'm concerned if Uber might have another round of layoffs. Uber for prestige and better resume in future. UiPath for low risk low profile job.
On visa or not? If not, Uber is better for your resume
You've got to be kidding me. Next thing you know people are going to compare us to McDonalds.
Dude we are at least Chic-fil-a
Uber is definitely more recognizable. Regarding comp, my TC is better than it was at FB (E6) even without the appreciation. But the company is still figuring out comp and not everyone gets refreshers. Those who get it will get more but my understanding was that not all receive it. So if you’re confident in being top 30% of your peers, then comp is quite generous. Out of the peers that left, a don’t know anyone that had trouble landing a gig at FAANG so I wouldn’t be too worried about it. I know a lot of people went to microsoft but that’s probably because a lot of people came from microsoft. Though maybe this is biased since most of my colleagues came from FAANG...

Public fapping epidemic
UiPath is more stable enterprise business that’s actually thriving during covid. UiPath is way more upside and well prepared for the ipo. Engineering/product team is like times smaller in uipath which together with ambitious plans means big opportunity for career growth.
