Not a water front. Built in 2018, did not sell in 2020, relisted now. Construction quality is average. Does this worth the asking price? If you are in the market for $3M house, will you buy this in Mercer Island? https://www.redfin.com/WA/Mercer-Island/6821-96th-Ave-SE-98040/home/256983 #housing #housing
Damn this house went up 4x in 3 years lol
Why not building one? Buy a land for 1M and build it for 1M. You can have your own design. I know it is not easy, but it is rewarding!
Everything about that house looks cold and uninviting. Even the layout seems to have that pointless wasted space we see with these newer designs, like those front rooms near the front door
Thanks for inputs.
Voddu babai. Voddu
What’s up with all of the marble? It would cost a ton to redo the flooring and they are clearly making you pay for their wasted use of marble flooring throughout. The house is nothing special, it’s just big. Pulling up to the house I wouldn’t think it was a $3mil house. For $3 mil, I’ve seen better...but maybe not on Mercer Island (do you have to be on Mercer Island?).
No, I am not looking for Mercer Island only. Bellevue, Issaquah, Sammamish, Redmond, all open. Ya quality does not seems high for 3M price tag. That was the reason to ask blinders for their opinion. Thanks.
I was watching this one on Mercer Island that I think is way better than that one and it sold for less: https://www.redfin.com/WA/Mercer-Island/4620-84th-Ave-SE-98040/home/260333 (But it is smaller...I don’t know if you need 5,000+ square feet) Also, for three mil maybe consider this one: https://www.redfin.com/WA/Seattle/819-W-Lee-St-98119/home/132292
Yeah both of the links above are so much nicer
Too big for my liking but you do you
Couple of gripes I have with this house: 1) The parking garage seems to be tight if you have 2 SUVs. 2) 3 stories..sigh, something I need is always on the other story. 3) South Mercer always seems a bit farther out to me. 4) Kitchen sink in the middle of the island in a 5750 sq feet house? Huh? WHY?! Nice for photo op but completely non-functional. Once you start using the sink, your dish soap, disk drying rack will all end up on that beautiful island, front and center for all your guests to see. It’s usually a constant dump area for all your drying needs. 5) What’s up with all that marble? Looks like they got a good deal in some stone yard and decided to wrap whatever they could in marble. At the $3 million price range, you have a lot more options. I’d encourage you to look for new construction where you can still customize, or a home with at least a view of the water, or in Clyde Hill, Medina area.
1) garage is deep and can accommodate 4 cars. But definitely not wide enough to park two large SUVs side by side. 2) agree, but basement comes handy for kids play area or at-home schooling, etc. 3) right. You see 405 and Renton across the water. 4) There are two sinks in the kitchen so this should not be an issue. 5) Yes too much marble. maintenance might be nightmare. and also too much white. $3M is not enough for Clyde Hill or Medina area unless you settle for a small house. South Bellevue, Sammamish, Issaquah, etc. would offer a better house in this range.
So how much folks would you buy this house for? Or not buy at all?
If you really want it, I’d bid $2.75 mil and see what they counter. I don’t think I would spend much more than that...
I can’t afford it. 🤦
