If their recruiters reach out to you, ignore it. For your sake. They’re gonna lowball you anyway.
I thought no one hires devs from WebMD/IB.
I’m being recruited for an Account Manager position there. Would you recommend avoiding? It’s a contract position before full time.
DM me!
Did you take the role?
How bad is bad ?
Let's be real no one here would work at WebMD. They pay like 70k for entry level. And management is clueless. I've seen some shit working there. 600 line functions for basic functionality. if (bool == true) and other code smells. And that was a VP coding. I had to teach a "senior" web developer what an if statement was. A junior, teaching a senior the bare basics. Absolutely clueless, thank god I left after 2 years. Spend 4-5 years there and you'll be a lifer due to skill atrophy, making below market wage. Everyone worth their salt left already, dead sea effect is in full swing there Everything fell apart after it was purchased by PE.
I can’t speak to working there as a techie but you’re absolutely right on the latter part. I’m making my exit after only 6 months.
Smart. I regret staying as long as I did, but Covid hit during my first year and jobs dried up like the Sahara. If you weren't tech, what department were you in? Curious if the issues in the tech side were also present in the content side, PM side, etc.
