I want to rollover my previous company's 401k contributions into my MS 401k. Both are fidelity. When I enter the tool to rollover, the website says I need to open a new rollover IRA account. Is that correct? How do I transfer the money into index funds that my MS 401k goes into? TC 210K, yoe 4
If you are rolling over, your “new” plan should have a rollover option in the settings or you can call Fidelity. If you want to move to an IRA, then you would need to create a new account
Op, kinda in same situation. I see both old and new in my fidelity account. Does that mean I don't need to rollover?

Open a Brokeragelink account With Fidelity and connect your 401k to that. Route the 401k deposits to the Brokeragelink account. In the Brokeragelink account, choose the index funds that you like.
I already have a brokeragelink account but fidelity is not giving me an option to transfer that money into any of my existing accounts. Only option is to open new rollover IRA account.
Probably the current employer 401k account has to stay separate. The 401k accounts of all the previous employers can be merged into a Rollover IRA account
