Adobe gloats about no “mass” layoffs at every town hall but more and more people have been disappearing within the company. So long as Adobe layoffs are fewer than 50 within 30 days, they won’t trigger the Cal-WARN act. Unexpected PIPs don’t count as layoffs so if this is the way that Adobe goes about headcount reduction, this is shameful. Our CFO gloats about no “mass layoffs” and it’s technically true but leaves out the part of undignifying departures with little to no severance via unexpected PIPs and small rolling layoffs - all this to save money? Make an official layoff and cut the BS. Pretty scummy if you ask me but makes sense coming from our CFO. Shame on Adobe.
adobe is the best company out there that does not do pips/layoffs. You are lucky that you are with adobe during this downturn and stop complaining
I heard same for VMware that they got excellent culture and havent laidoff even in these times
I thought VMware used to layoff people every year in January
lmao the entitlement
> Actually pointing out legit issues = entitlement Lick them boots real goooood 👅👅👅
It is always the sour grapes, who couldn't have what others had trigger the "entitlement" word.
Are you saying they are letting go less than 50 members within 30 days. I thought they always have to give atleast 2 months pay
They haven't done PIP in while and now are catching up but it's hardly that many people and most PiPed adding no value to org.
I see many comments deleted...
Adobe is known for good WLB and long tenured people. AFAIK, they don't have a pip quota of any sorts. If you are performing poorly according to your manager, you get put on a PIP and knowing Adobe, it takes a lot of poor performance to be put on PIP.
IC doing quiet layoffs via PIP also
Yes, same playbook
My friends team had cuts in Denver in November last year. I see what you’re saying. But I doubt they’re doing this to avoid calling it “mass layoffs”. Market seems to appreciate layoffs. Honestly, with 90% companies doing it now, I wouldn’t differentiate companies by “if they have done mass layoffs” a couple years down the lane. Also, executives will sell their soul but not say the truth.

Most second tier companies are doing this. Nothing special about Adobe.
How is Adobe second-tier?
I hate to see what they do with Figma..
