To those who are leaving make sure you check your paycheck and take money out of your commuter and fsa accounts - uber siphons off money even before you leave / for example if you contribute 200$ to commuter benefits and other companies give 90 days for you to use the amount - somehow uber takes put all the money immediately and credits to itself. Very bad / I know a friend who is so distressed and annoyed - she had 1200$ in commuter benefits ( uber doesn't give anything) and a few days before leaving in notice period uber debited the amount from her a commuter card :(, she was not using it and expected to credit some clipper cards before leaving - shame on you Uber - when you don't respect employees I cannot expect any better treatment to employees who are leaving .
do they do this to men as well?
Truth
That's how Uber works
OP, has your friend contacted Uber? it may not be an intentional thing but a technical bug in the exit workflow.
It's not a bug. Use all your money before your last day!! They will turn it off even if you have a balance.

:(
I always empty my commuter account as soon as the money comes in, exactly to prevent this type of situation. The commuter benefits doc actually explained pretty clearly that when employees leave the account is closed. Why would she accumulate $1200 when she didn't even need it??? Seems like a very strange thing to do.
It's like a new shock everyday. 😞

That is your money right? Not company match. Why can they take it away? Are they taking 401k away as well?
