I always see a lot of posts of people complaining about dating in the Bay (both South Bay and SF), and these complaints are often overblown. Similar to Yelp, you’re much more likely to write a one star reviews than positive ones. For men, these complaints are more or less justified because the bay is a sausage fest - you have Ivy League (and equivalent) grads working as FAANG SWEs making 200k+ left and right. But for women? Cmon. I’ve lost count the number of couples I’ve seen on the streets of SF where the girlfriend is significantly worse looking than the guy. I’ve dated in LA, New York, and Bay Area men are hands down the best. The amount of length that guys are willing to go after you in the bay is legitimately impressive. Guy X called me Uber blacks and sent me expensive flowers. Guy Y ran in pouring rain to grab his Tesla to pick me up on a first date. Guy Z bought a plane ticket to see me again after the first time we met. (I ended up dating Guy Z for a few years before we broke up due to other reasons) Ladies, stop complaining and PLEASE manifest some good energy. Life is a self fulfilling prophecy - if you tell yourself all the goods are odd, you won’t see the amazing goods even when he walks in. But if you tell yourself you’re going to find a great partner, he will come. Relevant: not sharing YOE or TC since 1) I’m not a SWE 2) don’t wanna doxx myself 3) it’s about my future husband’s TC, not mine Edit: oof, looks like I triggered a lot of salty guys in the comments... keep em coming 🥰
Tldr: Plenty of simps in the Bay. Color me surprised 😯
why salty ?
Salty for not being a simp? Jesus I'm happy 😌
Imagine being so up your ass that you think that girls are struggling at dating in the Bay Area. It’s guy, smoothbrain, guys are struggling. But pretty sure most of the ones struggling are Blinders.
I’d guess the saying “odds are good, but goods are odd” is just a slight joke about the situation. There’s some truth to it. What are girls supposed to say publicly, “so many simps here”? It’s like when someone’s rich, or if someone’s kid is doing really well—just one of those things that can be socially a bit awkward to say, so you downplay it.
Idk, I’ve talked to quite a few girls who seriously / constantly complain about dating in the bay 🤣
Sold, I'd move from Seattle reading this
No simps in Seattle eh?
If your bar is too high, bay area or Seattle won't matter.
The only people who complain about dating are on either r/femaledatingstrategy or r/incels
How about let’s just say. Dating is good for women! *at any given place on this planet !
Looks like op just got laid after a couple of years dry spell
😂 😂
Don’t tell them, incel secret gotta stay between us 😩
I need to move there. Dating in Seattle sucks... guys here are eh. They’re so passive it’s boring af
I have a ton of single friends who are aggressive and will curl your toes up.
> Guy X called me Uber blacks and sent me expensive flowers. Uber X -> Uber black upgrade is cheaper than most dinners. American Express cards give 75%+ discounts on flower deliveries 🥱 > Guy Y ran in pouring rain to grab his Tesla to pick me up on a first date. He can’t afford smart summon so the car haphazardly comes to him autonomously? Model 3 lease is only $450/month. Sounds middle class to me 🙄 > Guy Z bought a plane ticket to see me again after the first time we met Plane tickets, especially along west coast, are much cheaper than escorts and sugar babies. Even lie-flat transcon (6 hours) is only $700-800. College-student escorts are $1000/hr 😴 Zzzzz. Fell asleep because not impressed
And here’s Guy W OP ghosted. 👆
I can smell jealousy from the other side of the bay bridge🥰

I doubt the former is true. Male Techies in the Bay Area are so desperate that they would bang a pig!
Sadly, me too.
