Can I? I don’t mean to use an ide or something that assists in coding. Just want to use laptop as I a better at typing than writing.
Ask the recruiter
Facebook is very, very insistent on using whiteboard unless you have some accessibility issues with it. Would not recommend even asking.
This is bad advice. You should not be afraid to ask for what you would like as long as you do it in a polite and respectful way.
For FB onsite, whiteboard not laptop. You already used your laptop for your initial screening. This is their interview process, so practice for it.
My recruiter was MIA leading up to my onsite so I didn’t get to ask in advance. The day of I asked each interviewer if it was cool if I used my laptop and everyone said yes. Some were unsure if it was allowed, but still said yes.
That is good. When was your interview?
Couple months ago
they asked me if I want laptop and provided one after I said yes
When was your interview? And did u just write on a text pad?
couple of months ago. they have some notepad-like app specifically for that
Thanks
Google lets you use a Chromebook
Ask your recruiter. Don't use an IDE (you already said you don't plan to), don't try to compile your code, etc. Those things just tend to slow you down and you end up spending time in things that other candidates don't. Practice writing code in whatever environment you plan to use to make sure you don't get tripped up on the day of the interview.

Just don’t. It’s obnoxious and annoying when it happens in meetings so can’t imagine it will help you in the interview.
Many companies will let you code on a laptop during an interview
I see. Misread it as Needed for taking notes.
