Yesterday, my family went to my daughter's school here in Washington state. And they were warned that they might find people with fake guns as they were testing a system to detect them via the cameras already installed. With all the different discussions I have read regarding gun control and what can be done to prevent mass shootings this is the first time I hear this tech approach. I don't know if this is standard or a pilot program, and I don't even know what type of technology is behind this system, so I can't judge its effectiveness, but this had me wondering. What does Blind think about this type of tech based approach? Do you support for something like this? Something else? Or do you just don't believe there should be anything done about it.
Make schools gun free zones? 🤔
Well this system is obviously designed to enforce the “gun free” part.
Gun free zones are where almost 100% of mass shootings happen. Nutcases like sitting ducks.
Shit!!! This is a same startup 💡 I had the other day. AI application for public places security. Dadadadadamnnn!!!
My concern is how far will this go? I have a concealed carry permit, and I carry everywhere I can.
I think is that his type of measures are to enforce the “gun free zone” designation of some places. So in theory is for those places you can’t bring a gun.
Ok lets build a camera to see under shirt
Interesting. While it could be good in the student population, I am still allowed to carry on school grounds so slippery slope as to what is in Pandora’s box

Why doesn't OpenAI offshore and reduce expense by 80%
Obviously we should be arming the kids.
Or disarm them. Can't shoot without hands
