Why is it very difficult for a new grad to find fulltime in design side in VLSI Field? Many of the new grad students settle down for validation, verification and other such supporting tasks. Why the companies are not willing to take new grad students in Design side? What skills it requires to get in VLSI Design as a new grad?
New grad here I mean from Masters degree
Supply and demand. Design teams make up only a small fraction of the total workforce and a lot of people doing other things would like to do design. So it's harder to come in without any experience and get a design role.
Because people with only a bachelor's tend not to have the chops to do design. Get in via validation and get them to pay for a graduate degree if you want to do design.
