Not a leaked email - literally told us on all hands
Nice way to say layoffs are random and out of your control.
Why are people still working for VMWare? Are these the people who couldn't get other jobs or hopeful that broadcom won't axe them?
Because VMware was the kind of company that attracted long tenures. In certain countries there are statutory redundancy laws. Some people will walk out with more than 2 years paid salary as severance by law on top of what VMware will give them. Leaving would be a fool's choice tbh.
Mostly yes. Anyone who is any good left after the acquisition. Those left are mediocre paper pushers or coasting higher-ups with fat pay looking to retire. It is one trick pony that had its day.
