Hello, I have full time offer from aws, I had intern there, the team is decent, lot of learning, but definitely exhaustive experience. I got full time offer which I am yet to accept. Recently, VMware recruiter is a asking to interview for internship position in cloud services team to which she said it has 100% conversion rate. If I go with internship option, I need to reject aws full time option, and wait to get full time from VMware based on my performance to which I am pretty sure I would perform well. Could you please write down ur thoughts on which option to choose, it's little urgent and I need to convey my decision at earliest!
if you're interested in cloud and you turn down AWS for VMware you're crazy :)
But what of I am getting more exposure, in the sense exploring two companies instead of 1?
are you fresh out of school? I used to think that having two different companies on my resume would be more attractive too... IMO if you want to work in Amazon eventually you might as well join sooner. rather than work elsewhere for a couple of years and then join Amazon as an sde1.
+1 to that. VMWare's customers are still not in a position to give feedback on VMWare's public cloud strategy. There is only so much growth you can get out of private clouds in 2017.
Take AWS you cannot go wrong with that over VMWare
you must be out of your mind to reject AWS and go to VMWare let alone rejecting a full time position for an internship
Ex VMWARE, now MS guy here: Go with AWS. VMware has changed their strategy so many times in the last 3 years with their 'pivots' that I've lost count. VMW has become irrelevant and they have no answer for it. I have had almost all my previous customers at VMW move their on premise IT and workloads to MSFT, and cloud workloads distributed between MSFT and AWS because they have no faith left in VMW
Thanks for detail..!
