Is 150k cash TC enough for a family of 4 in Vancouver? I currently get similar TC in the midwest in the US. #vancouver #salary #canada
Vancouver is super expensive, plus the much higher Canadian tax, you would not enjoy it with that tc
Lol I make close to 150k myself and have no kids or spouse and itβs barely enough. But much depends on your lifestyle I guess.
150K made my move to Vancouver a few years ago, I would say it is enough for a family of 4. But this really depends on your life style, with 150K you cannot afford to buy a house (or even a 2br apartment in good neighborhood), and you won't have enough money to send all your kids to go to private school.
After tax it's around 7k a month. 3k or so is rent and the related bills. More 200-300 for other bills like phones. Around 700 for car, gas, insurance and such. 2-2.5k for daycares. 3k for food, restaurants, some entertainment like movies and traveling in BC. I think with this you are negative which is not amazing. Having said that, we made the move with 150k and we love it here. Never regretted.
If you work alone you will spend everything for family of 4 and that's just for essential things.

1 vs 5 Million - no lifestyle change
150k will give you a better lifestyle in the Midwest than in Vancouver. Can't judge the "enough" question because that's personal / up to you.
