Vandalism near Uber HQ in SF

My car was parked on 11th street b/w Mission St. and Market St. yesterday evening. It got vandalized. Somebody smashed the glass and stole some stuff from my car and caused some exterior damage to my car as well. Google maps shows that Uber's office was right next to where I parked my car. I was wondering if Uber uses any CCTVs for security and if those CCTVs capture anything happening around their office on the street. If yes and if I can get the recording then it would be very helpful for the police to track down the culprits. I would be calling up Uber security tomorrow but wanted to post here as well to see if anyone would have any other tips to share which can help me in such a situation. Thank you.

Unfortunately these things happen all the time. Finding the person who did it is not going to bring your car back... you'll have more luck talking to your insurance company.

It's not an Uber office building. We have 6 floors there as do square and a bunch of government agencies. Call the building and stop posting about Uber like a dumbass. Also who the f parks their car in front of a weed shop and a bunch of crack heads

Open your eyes (if you have those) and read the subject (if you can understand English). It clearly says near Uber HQ and not at Uber HQ. Are you saying that it is OK to open company HQ in front of a weed shop where crack heads roam around and but it is not OK to park your car next to that office. What logic is that? Also if you have ever tried to find parking in SF or for that matter in the downtown area of any city then you would very well know how difficult it is to find a spot anytime. Plus my car was parked on a main street in a proper metered parking spot and not in some alley. If you can't help then stfu. 🖕crack heads who damaged my new car were enough - I don't want to deal with more.

I've seen many if my friends' cars getting vandalised in the city. They never got their stuff back. I woyld suggest to park in the garage everytime you are in the city.

The best thing you can do imo to protect yourself if you street park on the reg is to get a $100 deductible on your auto insurance. I'd say it'll be nearly impossible to get uber security to release footage since there are some privacy laws (or policies) etc that cctv recorders have to adhere to. And the sfpd is simply not bothered when it comes to crimes that are not in-progress.

Man I'd never park my car in that area at night. There's broken glass all over the place from the last sucker who parked there. Find a garage next time.

That's a shady area. Everyone knows that

Intuit FartsMcGee Jul 31, 2017

Hahahaha yeah, that area sucks. That's par for the course, buddy! I lived around there and worked in that building - my car got broken into all the time. Nothing you can do.

The police in any major city, San Francisco included, will give zero fucks about this. Even if you handed them video proof, even if you handed them 4k video proof where you can see another cars license plate and the person got out of their car and for some reason flashed the camera with their drivers license and then spray painted your car. Your insurance company MIGHT care and they might wave your deductible but the police will not. File your report and your claim and get on with your life. Sorry this happened to you. Something similar happened to a friend of mine recently. Ps Why? Man power allocation.
