I have about 30K to invest in Vanguard low cost ETFs or index funds. Any recommendations for the same?
VTSAX and VTIAX. That will give you total diversification in domestic and international equities. Depending on your risk tolerance, I'd do around 60/40. These are admiral shares so have a 10K minimum initial investment in each fund but the lowest fees.
If you want to set it and forget it, just use one of their target date funds like VFFVX. Slightly more expensive but not by much.
Dont these have a high commission/brokerage fees?
Target date funds generally do, but vanguard's fees are much more reasonable. .16% fee for VFFVX. .04% fee for their total stock market etf. So I guess it's technically 4x the cost but the fee is still very small and reasonable to me.
Anyone know the difference of buying these ETFs directly through Vanguard vs Robinhood?
vanguard has DRIP (dividend reinvestment plan)
Aside from DRIP no other differences right?
VFINX tracks the sp500. You can barely go wrong
VFINX is investor class. Do you recommend ETF( VOO) or Admiral(VFIAX)
I felt VOO is better. What do you think?
I saw no diff in ETF and Admiral except that one has minimums and Admiral can be traded once a day while ETfs are like stock, can be traded anytime of the day. Does anyone know any more differences.
VOO and VO.
Why do you recommend ETFs over Admiral versions?
No minimal investment required. Lower fee. I'm using TD and VO/VOO are commission free. I also join DRIP and use DCA strategy. Buy and hold.
