Can anyone in Google who knows Verily / ex-Verily SWE or is a Verily SWE tell me if the company is a promising place to work? More specifically, I want to know if comp and career growth is similar to Google's and if the company is doing well. How is transferring to other bets and Google in case I'm looking for a change in the future? It's the 3rd most profitable bet but extremely far behind nest. I also realize that they give out special Verily stock which has more risk than Alphabet/Google stock. New grad TC: ~170k
Got a friend there who is trying to get out. Not sure how long Alphabet will find these moonshots. But the positive is you likely won’t be fired if it all goes to shit. So it’s low risk I suppose. Also not sure of TC.
Why is your friend trying to get out?
Their pay scales are lower than google for external hires from what I've heard. Also lots of risk as many projects are moonshots and the company could go belly up if some of them don't work out
Stock tripled in the last 2 years. Many millionaires were created, can’t get that upside at Google right now.
*past performance does not guarantee future results. Maybe for people who joined at the beginning and many of them have left/ are leaving. Can't cash out anyway, so paper money.
Also not really sure many "millionaires" were created from the stock as you imply. Maybe L6 and above I guess. Only a single 2yr grant was tripled and taxes are a thing.
What's a decent L4 TC given the peaking? My best offer is about 75k more in TC compared to Verily.
Theyre desperately trying to hire in chicago i hear
U sure? I thought they're located in South SF and are expanding that office. I don't even think they have anyone in chicago.
Google is opening a biomed office there. Not 100% sure if it is for verily
