After dealing with the Verizon FiOS app and their customer support, I'm convinced that no good engineers are at risk of losing their job from outsourcing and hiring cheap code monkeys. This company's been ubiquitous for decades, has presumably a shit ton of money from exploiting their customers with every shady business practice possible, and yet somehow hasn't leveraged its position to have usable tech. They hire so many engineers and yet using their apps feels like it's 2009. What the hell are people doing there?
Not much. Everything seems unorganized and lots of random projects that don't matter.
Xfinity internet is more than fast enough for most people.
Yeah but i would rather pull out my molars with a plier than deal with comcast ever again
Unfortunately, there aren't many good options for broadband
I worked at Verizon for years. Impossible to get anything done.
I’ve literally never had to talk to FIOS customer support or had a truck roll except for two installations, one 10 years ago, and then again when we moved. They’re doing something right.
You are making a big assumption thinking we invest any of the money we rake in hand over first in engineers. We don’t hire engineers for these customer facing systems. It’s all outsourced to the cheapest vendors in India.
Hey we don’t invest in secondary value adds. For us customer service and interface are just that. Btw, you are soon going to be rendered jobless as chatgpt replaces Google. So better lookout for low cost connectivity option instead of Verizon Fios.
Lol bro you work at Verizon while I can hop literally anywhere to make 5x your pay
Well, I probably work 10x less than you. My time and money is worth more than I could spend it working for someone else.
