Very amazed by that ex Meta guy on LinkedIn
I have been a huge Silicon Valley tech innovation admirer and supporter for years. I was also like many who got deluded that Uber, Airbnb etc are innovation as I loved using them. Until the post from the guy on LinkedIn came into my feed one day 3 years ago. I first ignored him. He talks very opinionated. Then I started following him as his every post was quite open the way it was written. I then started copying his posts and ideas over here as I somehow felt he made sense I still never believed if he can really nail things down. Today, I am really amazed. Every thing he wrote months ago is coming true. Sequoia invested $800MM in Elon’s Twitter. $200MM in FTX. All of that is going to zero the way it is going. But how many were saying it months ago? Balaji Vishwanathan, Jack Dorsey, Paul Graham, David Sacks, almost everyone was cheerleading Elon as the only “singular” solution to fix Twitter. Look where we went. Only one guy quietly wrote what will happen. 8 months ago- the day acquisition was first announced. Kudos to him. Really. It’s sad he left LinkedIn and looks like he no longer writes there. Anyone knows his other social profiles where he writes? He isn’t responding to DMs. Any Meta peeps know? ###

There’s a thing call hype and some people see through that. The thing with hype is that it can stay for a long time, so it feels real. Short term vs long term. A lot of people made money, so it doesn’t hurt to believe in it.

Yes. I also initially felt he is nuts. But guess what? He was right again and I started taking him seriously then. I did my own research- he was right - coal usage is all time high, EU has energy crisis and co2 level in world is at peak high inspite of us being so bullish on renewables for decade. Read his last article. He explained all of that clearly. Can someone tell me where is he writing now? He isn’t responding to DMs
