Hey received following offer from Visa Inc, India. Base - 35.30 lpa, Variable - 4 lpa, On Hire Stock - 13K USD (3 Years Vesting), Designation - Sr. Data Engineer, YOE - 5.5 Years Data Platform Team. Currently in Microsoft, Base - 20L, Bonus - 10-20% (4L Max), RSU - 5L / Year, Level - 60. Shall I go ahead with Visa offer? Does Microsoft retain their employees?
Offer is not too good for your yoe, you can get much better. Maybe interview more, the stocks are too low in visa and visa isn't known to be a pay master so can't be stretched much.
With that yoe you are definitely underpaid at MSFT. That bump looks good, try for staff level at visa since Sr is given to new grads.
The offer is quite good in comparison to your current. You should definitely take it.
I think just go to Visa for a good bump. MS doesn't care about retaining.
The offer is almost top of the band for i5, but data platform has a very bad wlb for some teams.
Do you know anything about cybersec org?
Also, if you had a great interview, you can push for staff (i6). The comp is in the range for i6 and the attrition is high.
How were you L60 with 5.5yoe? Did you end up taking it?
