Question about women in their 30’s?
I have an interview with vmware, they call it a pairing interview it’s apparently not data structures based. Has anyone had one of these before ? If so what is it like or what should i expect #engineering #software #swe #interview
I’d stay away until the end of this year at least
Really why
Why
OP, is the interview for a dev position?
Yes Software engineer entry lvl
It’s just a way to get to know what it could be like working with you. Casual and friendly. You’ll be pairing on real user stories on a real product rather than doing any kind of academic test. They’ll of course be evaluating your knowledge and abilities. Good to explain your thoughts, ask questions, and be friendly. Good luck!
I did pairing interview with VMWare Tanzu fairly recently. Got rejected. Not sure if it’s the same all around but here’s my experience. They work with you to make some sort of command line interface that takes an input and executes transactions. Think about how to store the execution calls. The guy wrote code while I yelled at him to do it faster and moar bettar. Second guy then talks with you about how to scale the solution but is very high level. He doesn’t even look at the code. It is very open ended and is trying to see what you know, sort of like a systems design interview. It was very interesting and fun exercise. Hope you get further than I did! Please report back on what it was like for you.
Which BU/Product? What stage of the process are you in ?
Tanzu labs and currently have hiring manager nd first paiting interview
