I just came across an interesting director-level opening at Nike and was wondering if any Nike employees on Blind can share what their work from home policy is, and whether they are planning to go full remote or expect everyone to be back in OR at some point. Not exactly keen in moving to OR, would like to stay remote or at worst be based in NY. #wfh #remote #hiring #Nike
Might as well apply and ask if you get a response. I think it’s up to the hiring manager ultimately, and there is a NYC office if you ever need to connect in person.
I’ve heard the same, that everyone will be back in the office once it’s safe, but... there are a lot of new hires (Sr Dir/VP) in tech this year that have no intention of moving to PDX. Makes me think things will be changing (at least in some areas of the campus) to allow for remote work. It’ll be hard to compete for talent after Covid.
I think they’re going to move most of digital remote and try and get rid of the old IBM bldgs to consolidate on main campus...get rid of all the ugly people and save on RE costs seems right up their alley
It's wfh until July 2021 as of now. After that it could be wfh on few days a week or it could be all onsite in OR. I guess they are still deciding on that but in general Nike isn't biased towards permanent wfh. It's worth discussing this with the rercuiter and hiring manager.
I know there’s an office expansion strategy for more locations but for you it doesn’t matter because we have a solid NYC office already. For those in OR, we will likely work 2-3 in the office for key meetings and collaboration and the rest of the week will be WFH. Permanent desks are not likely (except key roles/functions with specialized equipment and needs). I say apply and see what happens.
Is there any appetite for full-time virtual roles?
You can negotiate it to be fully remote. There are people who were hired to be 100% remote.
Nike is a FaceTime relationship oriented culture. Keep that in mind for future internal growth
Thought so
Anyone know the general amount of RSUS directors get ?
Friend works there and they are currently WFH until H2. Expectation is for everyone to be back to the office once it’s safe. Portland has awesome food and cheaper housing than NYC. And Nike campus looks dope: check out the Drake video.
