WLB and Long-Term Future in Computer Graphics (AR/VR, Gaming, Simulations)?

For those of you working in computer graphics (AR, VR, gaming, or maybe even simulations for self-driving cars or other robots), how do you feel about the WLB in the field? Also, would there be good long-term career prospects in specializing in the area, or would the skills end up being too niche? I'm avoiding companies in the AAA gaming and animation industries, since I've heard bad things about them, and they don't pay too well. I joined my current company to expose myself to 3D simulations, mapping, and other visualizations for self-driving cars, but I found out I'm not exactly in a low-pressure environment. I'm beginning to wonder if I should really dig into career in graphics if I care more about good WLB. It seems most of the companies that need the skills tend to be in gaming or at startups related to robotics, and those places tend to exert a lot of pressure. #facebook #nvidia #roblox #adobe #apple #google #amd #intel #unity #opengl #vr #ar #gaming #media

WLB depends on company but long term future is bright. I’d say Apple is the place to be.

WLB really depends on the team and the pressure it is under. If you choose the right team it can be quite decent.

+1, I would like to know this too, currently deciding whether to change my track to graphics/generative CV.
