Hey y’all, I’ve got an offer from a startup that represents a $40k pay cut in salary, and leaving a lot of amazon stock on the table. Total dip would be close to $100k a year at Amazon’s current stock price. I don’t have any other offers, and tried explaining the gap to the recruiter who ‘didn’t get approval for additional budget and the offer is what it is’. Note - there is equity involved, but it’s private RSUs so not at all liquid = not counting that. I hate it because I like the company and if they’d come up, even a little, I might have taken it. What does this group think? #offer #amazon
Take it if you will be learning more and don’t have visa issues. Otherwise, stick with Amazon for now till you find a better offer.
Agree with AQR - startups are small, so there are a lot of them! Likely there is another out there that is a better fit for you :D
Stay at Amazon.
Don’t settle unless you’re absolutely ecstatic about the team and the work and you hate where you are
Don't settle for less than what your worth. There will be better offers. Just keep looking.
