Hi all! Do Walmart Bay Area corporate employees still have the ability to WFH and if so, is it temporary or a permanent policy? Thank you! Blind tax: 325k
2020: We care for you, remote first… yeah let’s put some cringy posts on LinkedIn to show off because other giants are also posting such $hit for months so we got to catch up on that trend.(Reality: We took more than a quarter to give guidance to our employees, counties were pain in the a**, our workplace need restructuring to maintain safe distance norms and $hit) 2021: wait and watch 2022 January: wait and watch 2022 March: let’s lobby for bringing people back to office, start with once in a month. 2022 July: Congratulations, we have opened more office space for our employees lol, okay let’s lobby for at least once a week, umm okay twice a week?…. How about….
Ohh so they’ve actually RTO’d now too? I could swear at point I heard they’re doing a permanent WFH flex. Sorry to hear that, must be so frustrating!!
It is not just Walmart thing, no employer can guarantee that they will continue WFH. There I will give a Walmart a clean cheat. But the difference is in honesty, honesty is not guaranteed, your recruiter will tell you one thing, HM will guarantee another thing but eventually something else may happen under pressure from particular org’s SVP.
The only constant is change.
That’s so annoying :(
I am ok with change if it is planned just like my stories in sprints.
Why do you care?
