Hello Blind Community! My spouse recently joined Walmart (Tech division) in California and is yet to discuss maternity policy with the hiring manager. We did some research online and learnt that as per the federal law Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), employees must have been with the company for 12 months and worked for at least 1250 hours to be eligible for 12 weeks of maternity leave. Since that’s not our case (joined a few days back and we’re expecting our baby in Feb), what would a maternity leave look like? Can anyone from Walmart share your experience if you’ve been through a similar situation? #tech
Did you get to know anything about the policy if not completed a year? I am in a similar position and wondering if i will get any leave or not
Eligible for full maternity leave from day 1.
Amazing thanks.

That is true for most employers but her manager should be able to work out a decent time off plan. Walmart is a cheap company..I wouldn’t expect much. You will have the option to take unpaid FMLA though.
