Hello everyone, It seems like Walmart is launching their e-commerce platform for third party sellers to resell, just like Amazon. The competition is stiff. There is a company I know that actually builds those Walmart stores and list products and generate a return because Amazon is saturated and they do price reduction with their algorithm. What are your thoughts ? #e-commerce #retail #walmart
Lol
It’s a company lack of employee diversity
Nope, same as Amazon 95% Indians.
Yup same as Amazon except all cream @ Amazon and mediocre @ Walmart ( probably all those service company hires ... harsh but true )
Doesn't walmart already have this? I've seen plenty of sketchy third party sellers offering ridiculous deals on gaming consoles
Late in the market and I would compare more with ebay than amazon as most of the products sold are shipped from china & not from warehouse. If they don't regulate sellers or do proper vetting of vendors they will end up loosing trust and brand like how ebay lost its charm. Only advantage I see is return in any walmart store where ebay doesn't has it.
What’s wrong with products shipped from China?
Long delivery times
I think it's great idea because people can actually create their opportunities on this space since Amazon is too crowded right now. Walmart has its popularity in the online space and will be successful. Which is this 3rd party company name?
Exactly it is , I consult for a company that does that to set up Walmart or Shopify stores with certain product niches.
Walmart has done this for years
Around 10 years.
Try returning something from 3rd party purchased on Walmart.com. It was a horrible experience for me. Never again
It is interesting, I consult for company that offers those services for Shopify and Walmart stores.
Which company?
On an unrelated note, I'm on the lookout for a Walmart referral (as a PM) if anyone wants to help.
DM me
@ytjfuh can I DM you as well? I just applied to a ton of Walmart PM roles. 🙏🏻
ln the long run the merchants will be multichannel - selling both on Amzn and Walmart. In the end, it matters who gets the most eyeballs to their site that wins. WMT will make a dent for sure, but the options for inexpensive goods from China will be plenty (see Wish IPO for reference).
That is true it makes sense
Virtually any and all sellers on Amazon are also on Walmart and have been since 2016 or so
Walmart is always behind. Like 10 years behind. I spent 12 years there in various roles and levels. Those are my thoughts.
How are salaries at Walmart compare to Amazon?
Low
