"Walmart to Close Three Tech Hubs Operations in Carlsbad, Calif., Austin, Texas, and Portland, Ore., will cease, and the retailer will aim to relocate those workers, including to its headquarters in Bentonville, Ark." Would you be willing to relocate to Arkansas or find new work?
Bentonville is really nice for families but shit for everything else. Would not be surprised if this leads to expansion in India. "We can't find tech workers"... Who want to live in AR.
Even for families 🤢🤮
Hell no. Look for another job
Lol no. Take the servance and start looking. Noone wants to live in Arkansas and that's why they're doing this. You're stuck there for awhile if you make that move bc there are no other tech companies out there.
I wouldn’t mind moving for few years. LCOL and still relatively high salary could help. It’s not like there are tons of jobs out there in todays market anyway.
I am pretty sure you are very flexible for everything. Nothing really matters to you 🤣
Yes, yes I am.
No. That part of Arkansas is really pretty, but it's very disruptive to move. I try to avoid company towns and non-hub airports. Connecting for every flight is a drag.
Dallas hub is nice
Good luck in BV it’s trash and if you get laid off no where else to go other than Tyson chicken
I had many offers inside of a few weeks after being laid off in Bentonville. The area has 3 massive companies between jb hunt, Tyson, and Walmart but also many smaller companies that contract for them and other home offices like car mart. It’s not a bad area but definitely better for families. I really hope I never have to leave.
Laid off as swe in Walmart?
Why not go to Walmart's Atlanta or Dallas tech hub instead? If you lose your job, or want to move on, you will not have many opportunities in Bentonville. It's a one-company town.
