This offer is in their core ranking team ... Seems like a good place to learn given that Walmart is not so cutting edge as FB or Amazon and you can actually have easier impact (I think)? Is this a strong offer? 220 k salary 50 k sign on 130 k over 3 years (new hire grant - 43 K a year; 100K a year is the refresher) 42 k year end bonus TC (220 + 43 + 25 + 44 = 332 yr 1; 220 + 43 + 25 + 44 + 33 = 365 yr 2; ...) Phd + 7 years post phd experience. Also have an offer from Bloomberg @ 350 K but they might go up a little given the above. Both seem fine, but I'd think Walmart would be a better place to learn about more cutting edge ML + ranking. Would Bloomberg be better than Walmart? #walmart #tc #datascience @walmart
I think the salary can go to 220 at least
Your 3year tc is 345k not 378
Oh I meant first year it is (210 + 33 + 43 + 50 + 42 = 378). The idea is second year you get another 3 year 100K so then you can 33K instead of the 50K etc .... You did (630 + 50 + 100 + 130 + 42 * 3) / 3? Yes, this assumes however no refreshes/promo and also that I'd stay that long ...
Hi OP, congrats. Did you take the offer?
