what does walmart do with engineers?
Make them stock up the shelves at stores
WLB at Walmart global tech is very bad. You need to be in constant mindless meetings from 7am to 10pm, with some breaks sometimes, other times you don't have time to even go to the bathroom. This overload would have been fine if the management was appreciative. Upper management is constantly under stress, and passes it down. Most managers are always angry. Everybody I know is looking for jobs outside, we have people leaving the group every week.
Those hours are horrible when do you eat or sleep
I literally put on an alarm for 25 minutes whenever I get a half an hour break to catch up on sleep, otherwise I will go insane.
How about software engineers ? Is WLB available?
Nope, welcome to hell
A lot of tasks to complete? Or is it meeting heavy?
Been working here as an SDE 3 for the last 2-3 years and the WFB has been worst. Very long hours(10-12 hours per day on avg). The higher management is always angry and never appreciative. Low comp compared to other companies in the bay area.

Women, help me understand why this is inspirational
IMHO , work life balance is poor for program managers at Walmart Sunnyvale. You’ll have to juggle meetings across multiple time zones. Teams are also reticent with LOEs and commitments (this is changing slowly). But program managers are respected and supply chains isn’t one on those orgs where program managers are proxies for calendar assistants.
