Amazing how much conservatives latched onto that. In CA it is a misdemeanor rather than a felony, if the amount is under $950. It is not decriminalized. In Texas it is a misdemeanor under $2500. CA is a mess but get your facts straight.
I worked in retail about 8 years ago. The first thing I realized is the cameras aren't pointed at the customers, they're pointed at the employees.
