Today Walmart announced a “gentleman’s layoff”. They said they are closing 3 hubs, and remote workers need to return to office. Deal: work 30 days + 60 days limbo + ~10 week severance. Source a friend that was impacted. #layoff

Idk almost half a years pay sounds pretty sweet. they're barely going to work for the 1 + 2 limbo months and they get scheduled bonuses and rsus. Sounds sweet to me

Wow. I was thinking of applying here to safeguard against potential layoffs at Microsoft, but now that they’re making people come into the office I’ve crossed it off my list.
It’s just a big dance. I got laid off google and am now interviewing with Microsoft.
How does remote workers returning to office save money? Not sure I understand Walmarts thinking of lumping that in with layoffs

Agree with mb pizza. They are using the layoffs to try to make people go back to the office...Conspiracy theorist in my thinks it almost seems coordinated.
