Got walmart offer for Sr. software engineer role at Seattle location. Base: 155K Annual bonus: 15%(performance based) Annual RSU: 50k(vested over 3 years) Sign-on bonus: 8k YOE: 9.5 No new hire RSUs. Please evaluate my offer. This is definitely a low-ball offer How much can I push for total TC? Any tips for negotiations?
It's 50k per Year vested over 3 years. And annual refresher of 50k per year. So I'll get 16.6k in the first year, 33.33k 2nd year and 50k third year onwards
You should also be getting a new hire RSU right when you start
Low ball offer. Also, that yoe is more like staff than senior in Walmart.
For Seattle and role it is low ball
Careful on the negotiation. I was negotiating an offer with them for a Staff PM, and they ghosted me. I was negotiating based on levels.fyi data points for similar attributes in their Sunnyvale location for context.
8k sign on is an embarrassment
Currently at Walmart and can say this is a low ball. You should be getting closer to 170k
What about the new hire stocks grant and sign on bonus on top of 170k? I have heard that Walmart has stopped giving new hire stock grants and sign -on bonus unless you have stocks that you'll lose from current company.
Can’t speak to that but they can fuck off if they don’t offer new hire RSUs given you’re missing this year’s RSU
You should ask for the same amount of new hire RSUs as annual since it is passed 31st March and you will not be getting the annual RSUs till next year. Also push for 25k sign on. That is standard at Walmart.
@IFKO58 I have 4 interview rounds in upcoming week for Sr Software engineer role can you please share the system design questions, behavioral and what questions asked with director in last interview . Thank you for you help in advance 🙏
