Walmart performance reviews

How frequent are performance based firings at Walmart? Recently completed my 1 year. Ours is relatively a new team .Manager(majorly a project manager) said that he’s given “Successful” rating to me but he says that senior management would also review everyone’s work and then finalize a decision. Our team didn’t work on any impactful stuff. I messed up quite an amount on one of the tasks but again that project was quite junk and useless. Did another task and other tasks decently well but the messed up task is something that’s worrying me as manager was annoyed as well. Really feeling stressed out as the outside market is still trash hence trying internally and my I140 is still under process. Somebody please advise . Level: x3 Tc:$225k #tech #datascience #Walmart

That’s normally the way it is. The weird thing that I hate about eval at wmt is they look at our self eval after they rate us. They say they do have calibration meeting with skips and manager but who knows what.. But yeah we should get our rating in March

Depending on your level, your manager probably had his internal list of reports stack ranked. But if he told you he has you as successful - you should not worry about being fired. What happens though is that If you performed worse than your peers at the same level or less, then you are likely at the bottom. If your director+ is required during final calibration and budget review to put people in the bottom and he chooses your team as the sacrificial lamb, then you may end up being successful with a bad or very small raise or be put in opportunity with no raise, MIP, and RSUs. But you don't get fired for being put in opportunity. Managers can start a performance conversation with you at any time and start the performance improvement plan at any point. So if your manager wants to do that, he would have done it already. Hope this answer helped.
