Hi all intelligent folks, I really need your savvy advice since I need to make a tough decision for my career. I’m currently an HR admin in a small caliber bank for 4 years and they just don’t pay well, no promotion either. My pretax TC remains around 75k still in the past 4 years. Was exploring external opportunities but found out there’s not much salary growth for HR in mid level. But now I have 2 internal transfer opportunities opened up, one of them is admin which supporting M&A process in Corporate Strategy Team, another one is junior real estate researcher in Investment Banking Team, both of them are AVP titles. I’m qualified to apply for the first one but the second one will need to pass FINRA 63 and 79 in a couple of months. I haven’t pass them yet but few months might be enough to prep. I also have a strong background in real estate investment which is the main requirement of this role - I had 7 years experience in commercial real estate prior to the current role, and have a foreign country real estate broker license. Career wise and considering the potential networking benefit in the future, should I stick with pursuing the HR path? Or pick a different direction from one of these internal transfer opportunities? Thanks for all the advice in advance. 🙏
