Watched “Free Solo” on disney+. It tells the importance of practice

Watched this documentary about the first person to climb the El-Captain without using any ropes just with his bare hands. It tells the importance of hardwork and motivation that is behind an achievement.

Haha, if you needed to watch that to be reminded about practice... 🤭

When I heard the news few years back I use to think he might be some professional guy and would have done that. But when I watched the documentary then I realized how much was on stake and he could have just quit and lived happily. But he didn’t and practiced every part of the path till he was very sure of it. It was like doing all the Leetcode problems without missing any corner cases. 😦

It's more like doing the easy LC problems without missing any corner cases. Watch The Dawn Wall for a more technical challenge; the climb Honnold did in free solo is easy for him (by necessity because he doesn't want to die obvs)

You are equally dead if you fall from doing an “easy” climb. Free Solo was honestly the best documentary I’ve seen (that too on IMAX) - does show the limits of what you can achieve if you believe in a your abilities AND work tirelessly towards it

is much more than that. Alex, is a different breed. Hard work has almost nothing to do, passionate yes

You also hear the list of free solo guys who died. You know he’s going to dies sooner rather than later...

Not worth it. Some famous guy just died of that.
