Wayfair - Data Scientist - Reject after Onsite

Interviewed at Wayfair for a data scientist position. Had a good phone screen and answered all questions on the 4 onsite interviews too. But, got a reject. No feedback. Any thoughts on what might have gone wrong for me?

It's the same story for everyone.. No body knows and it varies by case

Do they have a catchy jingle for the reject? “It’s Way-unfair but you’re just not what we need!”

Same here with Wayfair. It went very well, but got a reject anyway. In a few days I'll be starting at Apple.

Congrats! You dodged a bullet :)

Thanks :-)

If I made a post for every reject I’ve had in the past 6 months alone, I’d have a big red TOP next to my handle.

Could have been a cultural mismatch. Or inability to close gap between comp demands and pay band offered. Or the coding case exposing a significant weakness in candidate's knowledge.

I understand. Feels so random though. I didn't put forth any comp demands and coding round actually went well. In my last round, the interviewer even said "you did a great job".

Dodged a bullet, focus on getting a job that makes money and pays their employees competitive wages

I got the feeling they are looking for cheap hands... My reject came after I told them I had other offers too.

@plasma I had mentioned that I'm in the process with another company when I was invited onsite. Could have been that too like you are suggesting
