They offered me same last year. I was able to negotiate relocation to 25k, before turning them down.
How much was G offer? 😊
~250
Looks like a TC of 180k, which is pretty standard for an experienced engineer in Boston. Keep in mind that any decent house around Boston will run you 1M+. Otherwise, you'll have to commute over an hour or sacrifice lifestyle.
You would live in a suburb
TC is more like 205. He's getting 33k per yr in stock. (900 rsu over 4 yrs @ strike of 151 )
What is RSU price calculated at? We had a great earnings call today
151 / share
Yeah, the stock had a nice bump this morning, for sure!
What's the vest schedule? Quarterly or one year cliff?
1 year cliff for first 25%, remaining is quarterly.
You can negotiate that too. They did quarterly throughout for me and removed the cliff.
If your company is not going away next year don't join this bankruptcy Wayfair. You can search for financial information on site such as seekingalpha or morningstar. WF is at the end of the road.
Wondering why you joined it though?
The company may not go away completely, but they keep doubling down on brick and mortar like it's still the 90s.
No dont join it. You will be starved out of life and then will be suffocated
How so?
We're moving in the right direction. But yea I don't like working in the codebase...
Run !! All the stock rise is temporary
I think your yearly can go up to 160k base
If you have other strong offers that is. It is top of the band for the base
Oh, interesting, OP. Do you?
Things that u don't discover till u r in Boston - utility prices super high ($300 to $500 a month even for a 1000 sq ft) and commuter rail $400 a month on an avg. And child care $2000-$2500 per month
Is that just electric and water, or does it include gas heating as well?
I don't have gas hearing. It is electric which makes it worse. But from what I have heard from people u pay $300-$500 either way. Also medical copays and deductibles are super high. Even with Wayfair insurance u end up paying $300 for normal office visits
Base is good, How many RSUs is that? What org is this for? Wayfair has some orgs that are terrible in terms of engineering practices
900 RSUs. I'm not too worried about the team's engineering practices, I had good discussions with the team and made sure to ask about that. Edit: The offer is valuing the RSUs at 151 per share.
TC is good in terms of L3, you might be able to push for RSU little bit but I dont think you can get much leverage there unless you have competing offer. Not sure what your priority is here... WLB, Career progression, etc. Compared to Macys (where you seem to be right now) - this seems like a good projectile. Wayfair has mix of teams - some work on good tech problems - can get you setup for FAANG and others not so good especially with PHP stack
