If remote employees arent cheaper then I can see this. It is also seems really strange that all these big companies who supposedly have good strong finance business operations people overshoot and hire too many. I guess the possibility of missing out is too much for them.
Or it’s all just a lie! Occam’s razor my man.
This is mostly fake news. It's a better narrative for the executives than "we needed to do another layoff because our financials still don't look good".
