Waymo vs. Cruise
I get offers from both cruise and Waymo. Wondering what’s your view on these two companies if need to pick. Waymo: L5 offer Cruise: L6 offer Cruise valuation is around 30B, Waymo unknown. Cruise is launching auto taxi in SF soon next year. No concrete numbers on the package yet. yoe: 8 TC: 400k Update: Cruise TC >700K including 1.5M+ stock Waymo TC~400K

Is Cruise bad ?
Cruise is a nightmare
I don't think so. I recently joined Cruise . It's been about a month and a half since I joined and it's awesome. My manager and team have been really supportive . Most of the technologies are new to me and I'm getting sufficient time to ramp up. There isn't any constant pressure to complete my ramp up and start working on any projects.
If it's not obvious by Waymo's 700-vehicle fleet, they are also launching a taxi service in SF "soon"
AV companies have made lots of promises. Let's see if waymo can deliver. This year's disengagement report wasn't in waymo's favor
Likewise, let's see if Cruise delivers. I don't think there has been a single video taken by a member of the public using the invite-only service.
I'd avoid General Motors like the plague.
