Layoffs, hiring freezes, impending ( lol ) recession, no more “soft landing”. We should all be supportive of one another in these trying times. Mostly because i still see nasty comments on Reddit like : “Oh you got whats coming for you”, “good finally yalls can stop inflating property prices here in bay area “, “Go back to Bengaluru”… Remember “Today you, Tomorrow Me” Thankful for Blind that its not as cancer-ridden as Reddit , yet. #Positivity #vibes #godblessAmerica #layoff
Yes - layoff paranoia is real. I personally feel so distracted and honestly waking up everyday dreading to check my emails. Surreal times
Same here. After a 2020 layoff and nearly ending up homeless (my TC was worse than 🥜), I am in a constant state of stress. We aren’t even in a hiring freeze and we’ve posted a ton of internship openings, which we didn’t have the budget for in 2020/2021 (meaning our department’s budget has improved). There’s zero signs of a layoff yet I am freaking out.
Being rude and mean just to be rude and mean is one thing. That's your example 1 and 3. Talking about how this will lead to bay area pricing changes does not fit the category of just being nasty
Agreed. I suppose a silver-lining in all of this is we don’t see those “Do you think we make too much money? I’m 23 years-old and make $500k lol” flex posts on here that much lately
Yeah. But outside of Blind people will laugh if you say “i got a $200k offer straight out of college “. People ignore what they don’t understand
Blind is very cancerous but at least there are less people LARPing than on reddit

It can happen to any of us. I really don’t understand why anyone (outside of Finance or HR) be cheering for layoffs.
