Wells Fargo full time vs contract interview process.

I'm in the middle of full time interview process with Wells Fargo. I also was approached by a staffing agency for a different contract role at Wells Fargo. Do you think if I apply with the contract as well, the full time hiring manager will learn about it and it will look weird?

Contract sucks, continue FTE interview, I interned at Wells Fargo few years ago, felt very slow, not sure how it is now.

Yeah it's slow but surprisingly well organized

What did the culture feel like there?

both contract and full time sucks at wells. If you don’t want to do any work & if you don’t want your career to be progressed in a better way Then wells is the place you have to join. If you have an option to apply for Bofa, do that rather working for wells.

Contractors got treated really bad at Wells. Please DO NOT take the contract role

As a former contractor and now FTE, agree.

Same here. And also the culture sucks - it’s a retirement home. If you are 40+ and have kids and no motivation then you are welcome to be part of Wells’ family.

I wouldn’t worry about how it looks applying for both. There are pros and cons to being FTE vs. Contract. Your experience also depends on the group you’re working for. I am currently contract and am happy with it because: 1) My schedule is extremely flexible. 2) Has given me an opportunity to determine if the team is a good fit before committing. 3) The team I work for is very empowering & recognize my contribution frequently. 4) Interviewing for contract is less work and commitment. The cons are: 1) Your contract can’t last longer than 2 years and there is no guarantee you’ll get converted to FTE. 2) You don’t get paid for holidays or vacation. 3) You don’t get any other benefits but you arecommunicated to as though you do so it results in feeling left out. 4) Other groups don’t treat their contractors as well as mine does and when you have to interact with them they make you feel like an undervalued team member. This said, I’m in a really good group that is also undergoing a lot of positive change. Additionally, WF future looks bright under Charlie Scharf. It’s a tumultuous time to join the company but also a good time to join. I’ve decided to seek FTE.

True but you forgot to mention that in both pros and cons, your career is going backwards.

TC is higher as FTE, plus you get benefits and PTO. But contracting is good if you’re not committed.
