What reason is best for 7-8 months resume gap I was last round with HM, told him about having medical problems Instead of interviewing on tech, system design, he was asking me various questions. He grilled for 10+ mins on asking why/what/how of this Verdict: Rejected What other reasons can u give like freelancing, working with small company #engineering #software #swe #layoff #hiring #job #microsoft #google #amazon #netflix #meta #apple
Not a red flag. Just you need a proper story / explanation. You can say that you were working on some volunteering initiative / NGOs, etc..
Then why you want to join tech again
You can always take a few months off to work on something and recharge yourselves.
Just be honest.
Don't be honest. That's stupid. Every interview question in existence is your chance to give a correct answer to help your chances Telling a recruiter or hm about fucking medical problems that made you unemployed for 8 months is obviously the wrong answer. I do not CARE about discrimination or whatever you want to say, I guarantee everyone here knows an hm that would never hire anyone with the slightest hint of health issues or personal issues. Why are you volunteering that? "I was taking vacation with family in Hawaii" is a better answer. Jesus.
Can we say freelancing or other stuffs
You can - but no one will believe you unless you set up legitimate LLC with registered agent and wrote yourself paystubs. Very easy and cheap to do this. Many people still just say "I freelanced" with no paper trail and it's usually seen as bullshit
Nobody asks and just say some bs reason like sick parent, sabbatical. If they push too much, prob you don’t want to go to that manager anyway.
This post scares me. I have been on break for the past 7 months , just exhausted working hard and being a good mom. Planing to start interviewing end of year or early next year. Is it going to be tough ?
You're female & married, can always say it's because of baby responsibility
But that itself. I got fired for the exact same reason. A manager did not hesitate to pip and fire me for being a mom. Would one hire me back for the same ? My team was full of under 25 youngsters. I had 10+ years of experience, solved several of their problems, yet was told ‘ I was not a fit ‘. I skipped team outings and unnecessary offsites as I had no time. Was hazed for being up to 7 minutes late to morning meetings , count kept. I don’t think anyone is going to be any kinder for me being a woman or a mom. I am thinking of not mentioning that I am a mom.
tell him it was your personal matter what you did when you were not working and he can go fuck himself then walk out od the interview
Say skiing accident and recovery. Legit and cool at the same time
