The Canva CFO resigned last week right before a $1.5 billion secondary and IPO plans. News articles say there was a company investigation for inappropriate behavior. What did he really do? https://www.afr.com/technology/ipo-hopeful-canva-s-cfo-departs-without-successor-20240214-p5f4yw Canva chief financial officer Damien Singh has resigned early after the design software company launched an internal investigation into allegations of inappropriate behaviour. The abrupt departure comes as the Sydney-based design software firm finalises a deal for employees and investors to sell more than $US1.5 billion ($2.3 billion) of stock at a $US26 billion valuation for the private company, and ahead of an IPO in 2024. The Information, a US technology publication that broke the news of Mr Singh’s exit, reported Canva told investors last week the change was intended to “set ourselves up for the next phase of growth”. But it was revealed on Wednesday that an investigation into Mr Singh was underway. A spokesperson for Canva declined to describe the nature of the allegations. “We have a zero-tolerance policy for inappropriate behaviour and we’re fully committed to thoroughly investigating and actioning any instances of this,” the spokesman said. It is understood that an investigation into Mr Singh was launched after the company became aware of concerns raised via an external online jobs platform. #canva #australia #oz #tech #sydney #cfo #finance #secondary #ipo
