STA? place and route? What else? It sounds very repetitive from what I know.

Methodology and analysis work to improve timing, power, area, correlation ... etc
It depends on the company and team. It could include synthesis and sta closure apart from pnr. It does get repetitive, but I guess that’s true with any job.
