Some years ago the term BYOD was a big talking point. (Bring Your Own Device). I thought it was a good concept. However I still see almost all big companies issuing corporate hardware assets. Why did the BYOD concept didnโt take off?
Control.
Really sucks it never really took off, would much rather use a ThinkPad with Linux then a Mac or windows HP/Dell.
I think it mostly has to do with data security. I may be naive about it, but the Infosec and compliance areas need control. I prefer a BYOD model, but Iโve also seen places move away from it.
