Cerner used to be a feeder company to msft and amazon couple of years ago. Then saw they had layoffs and acquired by oracle. What went wrong? Anyone know? TC 180K
They still exist as Oracle Cerner
Cerner execs cannibalized the company to get the numbers good enough to sell. If Oracle didn't buy us then it would have failed in about a year.
Cerner founder ceo passed away. Then an activist investor forced the company to do massive layoffs and cut costs. New ceo and leadership jumped on the opportunity to make quick cash for themselves, cannabalize company and get it ready for sale. Oracle has been wanting to buy Cerner since a decade and they jumped at the opportunity. That’s what happened.
Does anyone know how many impacted in today’s layoff?
Nothing went wrong. Oracle wanted to get into healthcare.
