What does it mean for new hire and their offer packages inc RSU? Do they convert you to the buying companies structure and comp? Does that mean you automatically get converted to the buying company and it might be a win to avoid having to break in to a more difficult company? Any experiences from mergers? What happened to Blizzard and MSFT?
Just a rumor but https://frontofficesports.com/electronic-arts-could-be-eyeing-merger-with-media-giant/
"Could be ", not even a rumor
Activision RSUs will be converted to MSFT at a set price. Cannot wait!
What about base? Will it be adjusted to Microsoft standards or nah
Nope
I can tell you if it happens, there will be a conversion rate for your stocks, both vested and unvested. Then depending on the deal, you might or might not get some cash per share. This is what happened with Zynga - Take Two aquisition.
If bought by Amazon, then you lose all your perks. Frugality 😜
And get free pip and focus
Don’t act like you get nothing. 🍌☕️
Or broadcom
FML
Sounds like they will make a new sim every year and release a free DLC that makeshifts the previous year version super slow.
Apple lol
When a company buys another, your vested stock gets converted if the old company no longer exists and you receive a brand new offer. Your unvested stock disappears. They tend to add incentives for people to stay during the merger with a NDA attached, such as paying out or converting some amount of your unvested RSUs if you stay.
In core Amazon is a retailer and Apple is a hardware business. They don’t need EA, they don’t know how to manage such a business. Msft can buy it, but this probably won’t be allowed by the anti-monopoly commission because they have Xbox, Bethesda and Blizzard. So probably that “media giant” is some Discovery group.
Amazon is everywhere and they are doing good job( they are Voldemort tech,) have you heard of aws, kindle, prime, audible, whole food, ring, Alexa, etc etc.
Bloomberg, all this etc/etc bullshit is yet to reach break even. AWS is the only profitable business.
did i miss something? was there an announcement about EA getting bought? it depends on the terms of acquisition. so the answer is up in the air until u see the agreement. but its "possible" to have one of these outcomes. EA is public so lets not consider private company cases. if ur RSU is vested, then it "may" be converted to Apple/Amazon shares. or they "may" choose to pay you cash for your vested shares. if ur RSU is unvested, it "may" be converted too, or they "may" choose to issue you new shares of unvested Apple/Amazon RSUs or they "may" accelerate ur vesting schedule and payout. many factors can affect this so it really depends. ur base pay can be affected as well. my past experience was no base pay change, accelerated vesting with cash pay out, then new RSU at new boss company with normal 1yr cliff 4 yr vesting schedule.
