TC = CTC TCS, Infosys, Wipro still hires at 3L package. Even after a lot of years spent, TC will only increase to 12L. Some are able to switch to product companies like Samsung, Apple, Microsoft and get the high flying 50L TC. But these jobs are very limited. What about the rest? My friends in service companies, even after 10+ years of experience are getting 15L to 20L in service companies. Some of them decided to switch rapidly made it to 50L range. But their jobs are very very unstable. They have to keep preparing for interviews and most jobs last only 1 or 2 years. And it's highly stressful.
They lose the race
They lose the winner-less rat race
You said everything in your post. Even the answers to your questions. What are you really asking here? Btw, what's your TC and YOE? How much does Cadence pay in India?
I'm thinking of switching to mentor or cadence. Are you guys hiring? I'm currently at Synopsys (17L; 2.5 YOE)
@Synopsys, yes we are. I can refer if you find a suitable position.
TC or GTFO
They end up joining better service companies. A lot of them end up in banks or other companies where software is an expense, and not the core business. Infoedge (naukri.com shaadi.com) HSBC. Target. Even Walmart.
Nothing. They live in poverty. Or eventually become director or something in 20 years when TC becomes decent even in low paying companies. The difference is just that service ppl spend their 20s in poverty and product people don't.
There are some better paying service companies as well like Deloitte, Nagarro, EY, etc
Since when is 50L considered fancy? 🤣
Nothing happens , Their life goes on. They would live with limited ambitions and need. I know a lot of folks who are 10-15 years experience and make less than 30L but they are never afraid of job stability. They have kids , small house and log off at 6pm - work on themselves on personal front and get going with their lives. When they are 40s they get decent grade in these service companies and still go on by relaxing.
The past 30 years saw a unbelievable growth in service industry. So people who reached an age got good managerial positions. This is not true anymore. Forget growth, companies are shrinking. They would be lucky to have an IC job.
So are the Dudes. You have huge competition there

What answer are you trying to get? - WITCH hires at 3 lpa -> goes to 12-15L in some 5-6 years - some people work at product companies and make 50-70L - some switch and hike their salary - some are in startups and their jobs are unstable What else? You answered your question, these are the market segments
you inadvertently gave “net it out” lessons to him.
