What index funds are you investing in?
Thinking of investing in some low cost index funds. Have no prior experience with it.

% Returns on them ? Do you have direct payroll deduction set up ?
Look at the market fundamentals now. Look at the length of the bull market. Look at the political situation. Then consider how much of your investable assets you want sitting in a index fund right now.
Agreed, a lot of funds are losing money now

I use VTSAX (Vanguard Total Stock Market US), VTIAX (Vanguard Total International Stock), VWITX (Vanguard Intermediate Term Tax-Exempt Bond Fund) in my brokerage account, and VBTLX (Vanguard Total Bond US) in my Roth IRA. Overall I’m at 60% Stocks (80/20 US / Int’l) and 40% bonds. This is not retirement savings so my timeline is shorter, hence the lower stock %.
